Thou Shalt Not Read New Spring First

  09.01.2017   iandrus   1 Comment

If you are new to The Wheel of Time series you may be asking yourself, “Where does New Spring fit into the reading order?” Some fans recommend waiting until after reading book three or book six. Others recommend reading it after book ten which was published in 2003 since New Spring was published in 2004.

Neh! You ought, you must!, wait until the very end to read New Spring. Robert Jordan’s epic character building of Lan and Moiraine is more apparent when read at the very end. New Spring is a prequel but is not meant as an introduction to the series therefore does not explain who most of the characters are or how things work.

Don’t be hasty! Pick up the other books first and save New Spring for the end.

Well perhaps you humans do have short lives but you do so much with them. Always jumping around, always so hasty and you have the whole world to do it in.

Loial, Eye of the World
